Welcome
I am a historian who is interested mostly in the intersections of work and nature. I started my career writing about agricultural history, but have more recently been interested in maritime and coastal spaces. I am just about done writing a book charting the environmental history of Tampa Bay.
I hold a B.A. and an M.A. in history from the University of South Florida and a Ph.D. in American History from The College of William & Mary. I am an associate professor of history at Florida Atlantic University, where I teach courses in Florida history, labor history, environmental history, maritime history, and southern history.
